Sustainability

Corporate social responsibility

Sustainable in motion

At VirtuFit, everything revolves around movement, and we're moving in the right direction when it comes to people, the environment and society too. From green energy and a gas-free head office to a fair supply chain and products that last for years: we make exercise accessible without losing sight of the world around us.

Our new premises

Sustainable from the ground up

At the end of 2025 we moved into a brand-new head office that we made as green as possible right from the drawing board. The building uses no gas: solar panels on the roof generate our own electricity and heat pumps take care of heating and cooling. Smart design choices keep consumption low, from lighting that switches on and off by itself to collecting rainwater on our own grounds.

For us, sustainability doesn't stop at the products we sell. It starts with the place where we work every day.

On the road

Cleaner on the move

We make it easy to travel and work more cleanly, both in the warehouse and on the road. Our internal transport is fully electric, from pallet truck to forklift, and our cars run on electricity too, charged with power from our own solar panels. On top of that, we encourage colleagues to leave the car at home more often.

Electric driving

Our lease cars are fully electric and charge on our own solar power.

Electric internal transport

Our in-house warehouse transport is electrically powered too.

Company bicycle

Through an attractive lease scheme, colleagues lease a regular bike or e-bike, so the car stays parked more often.

Products & packaging

Built to last

The most sustainable product is the one you don't have to replace. We design our fitness products for quality and a long lifespan, and we make our packaging cleaner step by step.

Long lifespan

Robust materials and a sturdy construction, for years of training enjoyment.

Recycled material

More and more of our products and packaging contain recycled material instead of new raw materials.

Less plastic and waste

Hardly any styrofoam, and our own baler compresses packaging waste: up to 70-80% less plastic and 50% less cardboard volume. That also cuts waste collection trips, from weekly to once every two months.

Recycling contribution

Through recycling contributions we help ensure responsible collection and processing at the end of a product's life.

In-house technical service

Repair instead of replace

Our own technical service takes care of the maintenance and repair of fitness equipment. This helps extend the lifespan of products and reduces unnecessary replacement. It means not only better service for our customers, but also less waste of materials.

End of life

Responsible down to the last part

We take our responsibility at the end of a product's life too. Usable parts are kept for repair or reuse; whatever can no longer be used is processed together with our certified recycling partner HKS (holding WEEELABEX and ISO, among others), so that electronics, metal and plastic are recycled the right way. In every country where we operate, we also comply with the legislation on recycling equipment, batteries and packaging.

People & wellbeing

Fit at work

Exercise is in our DNA, during working hours too. Colleagues train in our own facilities with exactly the equipment we sell ourselves, and fresh fruit every day keeps everyone energised. Healthy, energetic people are the foundation of everything we do.

"When our people feel good, everything grows with them: our team, our organisation and the impact we make."

Fair supply chain & compliance

Fair from start to finish

Responsible business doesn't stop at our own door. We work with producers who share our values and keep a close eye on the entire chain.

  • amfori BSCI audits

Our suppliers are assessed through amfori BSCI audits for safe and fair working conditions.

  • Code of Conduct signed

All our producers have signed our Code of Conduct and commit to the same standards.

  • Regular checks

We carry out regular checks to make sure the agreements we make are actually kept.

  • Compliant with EU legislation

Our products comply with applicable EU legislation, including CE marking, GPSR, Declaration of Conformity (DoC), CLP labelling and EN ISO 20957.
